MARK STEVEN GROVE

Producer / Stunt and Special FX Coordinator

Mark Grove's background includes intense training in the Japanese art of Ninjutsu. At age 17 he opened his first training facility, and has since taught thousands of students. In an art with a primary doctrine of adaptability, but with little outlet for 'recreational application', Mark sought out a new avenue to use his skills. He entered into the film business as an apprentice to Lars Lundgren, (Total Recall, Licence to Kill), a professional Stunt Coordinator and performer. Learning the stunt and film business from Lars, Mark used his unique fighting and acrobatic skills to gain experience in films. He worked with Lars for the first few years of his career, in the late 90's when Lars returned to his home in Sweden, Mark continued his career in the US working as a stuntman and actor. Naturally versatile Mark quickly moved on to such prestigious positions as Fight Choreographer, Special FX Supervisor, Firearms Handler, Pyrotechnician and Stunt Coordinator

He made his jump to the director's chair on the action/martial arts film Dragon and the Hawk, which premiered in theaters in March of 2000. In 2005, he directed the action/horror film The Shadow Walkers, which was released by Lions Gate in 2007.

Taking on the role of a Producer, Mark has been instrumental in getting many films off the ground. In 2004, he served as Executive Producer on the film Backslash, which was released by Bedford/MTI Home Video in May 2007. In 2005, he co-produced The Sensei, which has received great praise throughout the industry and premiered at a Director's Guild of America (DGA) Screening.

Mark is also an accomplished screenwriter. He has written a variety of feature films, including Shadows: The Path of Deception, which was optioned in 1994, Rogue Assassin, Tengu: Legacy of the Ninja, Prime Evil: Spririts of the Fallen, and the fantasy adventure Gathering of Heroes: Legend of the Seven Swords.

Mark continues his role as a teacher of the martial arts as the founder of Warrior Quest International. He also enjoys working with future filmmakers, teaching "Shooting Action" at the Colorado Film School and as a continuing mentor in Stunts and Special FX with the Asgard Entertainment Action FX team.
